If you have just moved into an oil fired property and are unsure what to do next, we can answer your queries.
What fuel do I buy?
Most domestic oil-fired boilers and cookers use home heating oil which you may hear referred to as any of the following: kerosene, 28 second burning oil, regular burning oil. Some domestic systems use gas oil. If you are unsure, speak to a member of staff who will help you identify the fuel required.
I’ve just moved in – how do I know how much fuel I have?
Many tanks have a site gauge connected; remember to push the plunger so that the level re-sets. This will then adjust the ball to the level of the oil in the tank.
If you have a plastic tank, it should have the capacity embossed on it in a prominent place.
We can deliver a specified quantity or we can fill your tank – whichever suits your needs/budget.
If you have an old metal tank and are considering replacing it with a plastic tank, contact your nearest depot.
How much can I expect to pay?
The larger the quantity you order, the cheaper per litre you will pay. This is because it costs us the same to deliver 500 litres as it does 2000 litres. The minimum quantity which we deliver is 500 litres. The bigger the tank you have, the better, as you can fill up when prices are lower.
Unlike other energy, oil prices change every day. We always quote for a delivery for the following day, or the next day at the latest (or the same day if possible if you have ran out). This means you know exactly what you will be charged
Do I have to be at home when you deliver?
Provided that there are no access restrictions, such as a lock on the tank, closed gates, fierce dog!, our experienced drivers will just get on with the job of getting the fuel in your tank. All our deliveries are strictly metered, and the driver will pop a pink copy of the ticket through your door which gives the meter readings so you know what quantity has been delivered.
